Information on Professional Development

The Society of Pediatric Psychology (SPP) is invested in further developing our current leaders, as well as fostering the growth of future leaders for our field.  Current professional development offerings include a host of readings and workshops in key areas to promote leadership effectiveness.  It is anticipated that future activities will include leadership mentoring opportunities and SPP-offered workshops focusing on leadership development.

Literature and Training for Leaders

Heading up a research team?  In charge of a clinical program?  Maybe considering a career path in administration?  If so, developing your competency as a leader is a critical component for your future success.  In order to promote your success, the SPP Leadership Resources Task Force (Russell Hoffman, Deidre Donaldson, and Dan Clay) offers a guide to literature and training programs on key competencies for leaders. Simply select the leadership competency on which you would like to focus (See links, below), and learn about tools that other SPP leaders have found useful in promoting their development.  Please contact one of the Leadership Resources Task Force Members about information presented in these lists, or with recommendations for additional works to include.
