Research and Clinical Interests: My primary research interests revolve around multicultural issues, specially developing measures and tailoring interventions for ethnic minority populations. I also have an interest in how youth cope with chronic illnesses and assessing programs aimed to improve coping of these children and adolescents. Currently, I am working on a randomized controlled pilot study investigating the use of yoga in the treatment of chronic headaches. Additionally, I’m involved in a CBT pilot study for adolescents with type I diabetes examining the use of problem solving skills in increasing adherence in social situations. My involvement in other past and current research projects includes areas such as sickle cell disease, type II diabetes, chronic pain, and hemophilia.
