Research & Clinical Interests: My primary interest is in pediatric psychology, particularly as related to child and family adjustment to type 1 diabetes. At Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC, I am working on two randomized controlled studies designed to (a) provide support to parents of very young children with diabetes, and (b) promote family teamwork between early adolescents with diabetes and their parents.  Clinically, I work with children and teens with HIV/AIDS. I am very interested in childhood resilience and positive psychology, and I try to incorporate this into all of the work that I do. I am excited to represent and get to know the student members of Division 54!
